A brief history of my time on earth

I guess to start this blog it would be best to give the reader a quick breakdown of who I am, what i’ve been doing & my dreams for the future.
Who am I
This question could be best answered in a few months time, after I’ve spent some time on the road. For now I can say that I’m a 33 year old Aussie guy, who has been working hard as a graphic designer & saving for what will hopefully be the best travel experience i’ve had in my lifetime. I haven’t been overseas for over 11 years, so it will be interesting to taste this experience again.
What have I been doing the last 10 years
8 years ago I was living in Brisbane, dissatisfied with my life & my world around me, I decided suddenly to drop everything & move to melbourne. Alone & not knowing anyone I struggled for the first few months to fit into this big busy city, but eventually found myself meeting some exceptional people, who in turn introduced me to others & before I knew it I found myself in love with my world & living a dream I had when I was @ art school 10 years previously. That was to be a successful graphic designer, producing good work, living in a warehouse, exhibiting my art & spending time with other artists who were wanting to share their ideas & work together. In short, I felt as if I had finally found home.
After a few years of this I began to again feel dissatisfied with my life, It is like now I feel something is missing from my world, & although I love it & have a great life here, I am finding the desire to again throw myself @ something much larger than myself. This time however I have a good group of friends, most of whom are currently travelling as artists/performers/riggers/writers etc..
My dreams for the future
In 5 days time I will be on a plane on my way to Frankfurt. Right now I am sitting in a 1/2 packed room in Fitzroy, stressing about small details, & worrying I don’t have enough money. I am getting rid of most of my possessions, keeping a few objects I hold sacred.
Firstly, I will be visiting my mothers country, slovenia, where my family has lived for longer than anyone can remember. I will be meeting Family I’ve never met, as well as new friends & trying to obtain citizenship so that I can later work in Europe/UK. Then I’ll be meeting a good Aussie friend of mine & heading towards EXIT 08 festival in novi sad, serbia. A festival formed in rebellion to Slobodan Milosevic’s regime about 8 years ago, & has grown to include over 300 acts over four days & 140,000+ people. I think this will be an awful lot of fun & I hope to meet some exciting people & then continue my adventures, destination UNKNOWN.
